Exophone's make it really easy for businesses to go live on WhatsApp Business API in minutes.
Before you start:
Ensure that you have the pre-requistes done:
- You have procured an Exophone of your choice.
- You can access the WhatsApp console.
Note: If you are planning to use an existing Exophone for WhatsApp, please evaluate the impact of changing flows associated with the Exophone to avoid any issues with your existing call flows. Onboarding Exophones to WhatsApp requires change in flow/app configuration.
The key requirement, to onboard any number to WhatsApp is that the number should be able to receive an OTP via SMS or Voice call.
Follow the steps below to configure an easy call forwarding flow for your Exophone.
Step 1: Navigate to the "App Bazaar" section of your Exotel account and create a custom app.
Step 2: Create a new App . ( E.g WhatsApp Onboarding OTP)
Step 3: Drag and drop the connect applet from the right menu to the panel titled " When a call begins, what should we do?"
Step 4: Enter the phone number where you want to recieve the voice call from WhatsApp for OTP verification in the Dial Whom> Dial Phone number(s) section. Save and close the app.
Step 5: Navigate to the Exophone tab and connect the Exophone with your new app by selecting it from the "Install app" dropdown.
The configured Exophone can now be selected in the onboarding journey on WhatsApp Console.
