Pre-requisites

Exotel

  1. WhatsApp onboarding for the phone number to be used with LeadSquared is completed.

  2. Infra URL & credentials are available with you (shared during onboarding)


To activate a new phone number with Whatsapp business API via Exotel, reach out to your Exotel account manager or drop a note to hello@exotel.in


LeadSquared

  1. Customers should have WhatsApp add-on enabled on their LeadSquared account.


Steps to install WhatsApp on LeadSquared


Step 1Login to your LeadSquared application and head to the Apps Marketplace.

Step 2: Search with the keyword WhatsApp.

Step 3Click INSTALL on the WhatsApp Messaging Connector plugin.

Step 4: Once installed, hover your cursor over Settings icon and click Configure.

Step 5: On the Configure WhatsApp Business pop-up, click Add Number. 


Configuration

To install Exotel Whatsapp on LeadSquared, perform the following:


Step 1: Under the Basic Details section, enter the following parameters:
WhatsApp Business Number - Enter the business number onboarded on WhatsApp
Account Name - Enter the Account Name in the text box.
Allow Lead Generation on incoming message - Toggle the allow lead generation on incoming message to enable Lead Source option.

Lead Source - From the dropdown, select a lead source for your leads.


Once you’re done, click Next. The Service Provider page would show up.

Step 2: On the Service Provider page, select Exotel as the service provider. Click Next. The Authentication page appears.


Step 3: On the Authentication page, enter the following parameters:

Client Base URL - Enter the Base URL provided to you by Exotel upon onboarding your phone number on Whatsapp

Whatsapp Number -  Enter the business number onboarded on WhatsApp.

Username - Enter the username provided to you by Exotel upon onboarding your phone number on Whatsapp

Password - Enter the password provided to you by Exotel upon onboarding your phone number on Whatsapp

Webhook URL - The Webhook URL is disabled by default.

  • Copy the  Webhook URL.

  • Share the following details of your Whatsapp-enabled phone number with Exotel support at hello@exotel.in mentioning that you’d like to configure the Webhook URL to mentioned Whatsapp business phone number

    • URL :  Exotel.abc.net port XXXX

    • Username: Abcorp

    • Password: XXXXXXXX

    • Phone number: 734550771X

    • Webhook URL ( From LeadSquared)


  • The support team would configure the callbacks with your Whatsapp phone number and the integration is ready to use. Wait for the confirmation from the support team to proceed further. ( ETA: <24 hours)


Once you’re done, click Next. The Converse Settings page would show up.


Step 4: On the Converse Settings Page, if you want to enable the configure, enable the toggle or keep it disabled. 

Once you’re done, click Next. The Advanced Settings page would show up.


Step 5: On the Advanced Settings page, enter the following parameters:

Activity Mapping - Click the arrow next to Activity Mapping to view the list. A LeadSquared activity field to your WhatsApp messages. This is the activity that will be posted every time a WhatsApp message is sent or received.

Default WhatsApp Number Field - Click the arrow next to Default WhatsApp Number Field to view the list. The number you set as the default phone number will be automatically selected when you are sending a WhatsApp message to a lead.

Default Country Code - Enter Default Country Code in format + Country Code i.e. +1.

Enable Rich Media Template Support - If you want to include media files in your WhatsApp message, you must enable the slider.

Enable Rich Media Template Support - If you want to include media files in your WhatsApp message, you must enable the Slider slider.

Enable HSM - Disable HSM to use Exotel Whatsapp APIs

Show URL Preview in Custom Messages - Disable URL Preview to use Exotel Whatsapp APIs

Compliance Type - Here, you can select the compliance type for the WhatsApp template, by choosing either WhatsApp Opt-out or Opt-in.

OptOut - Send Message to Only Opted-in members (Excluding Opted-out).

Opt-In - Message will be sent to all the leads except Opt-Out fields.

WhatsApp Opt-out – Select a lead field for the WhatsApp opt-in/opt-out functionality. Your leads can opt-in or out of receiving WhatsApp messages on the basis of this field.


Once you’re done entering the required details, click Save.



Note: In order to use templates whitelisted on the META business manager dashboard provided by Exotel, these would need to be added to the LeadSquared dashboard.
